Reviews for Bounty Hunter DISC22 Discovery 2200 Metal Detector (Lawn & Patio) I just lately purchased a Bounty Hunter Discovery 2200 metallic detector to find the outdated surveyor's pins that mark the corners of my property.
The unit arrived on time and in excellent shape; was once straightforward to assemble; has a pleasant display; and that is sturdy, mild weight, and straightforward to function. However, it's not giving me the outcomes I want.
Not having used a metallic detector ahead of, I first tried the default atmospheres. The surveyor's pins are fabricated from metallic, presumably galvanized iron or metal. Unfortunately, so are nails, screws, bolts, nuts, used to behers, and other hardware. And it seems my whole yard is stuffed with rusty hardware!
To "calibrate" the detector, I buried a bit of half-inch galvanized iron pipe straight up and down about six inches under the skin. The detector found it simply with the default atmospheres. I then decreased the sensitivity unless the detector barely answered to it, figuring this sort of low surroundings would filter out the rusty hardware. Unfortunately, I nonetheless managed to search out plenty of rusty hardware!
Another problem is that there's a bit of a lag between the actual area of an object and the location the place the detector beeps. Sweeping in an X-pattern assists slender the positioning just a little. However, the lag still exists, such that I wind up needing to dig a fairly broad hole to search out one small object.
